Common name:Krauter Vasuvius Flowering Plum
Botanical name:Prunus cerasifera 'Krauter Vesuvius'

The 'Krauter Vesuvius' is a smaller growing, flowering plum that grows to 18' high by 12' wide. Its leaves are purple-black throughout the growing season, and the flowers have a light pink color.

Botanical name:Nandina domestica

Nandina domestica is a graceful upright shrub that grows from 3 to 6' in height. It gets its name from its bamboo-like growth habit. When thinned from the center it bears a remarkable resemblance to bamboo. It is best used in groups. It can be used in a shaded patio or out in a shrub border with full sun. An interesting feature of Heavenly Bamboo is the bronze color in the new growth when planted in full sun. It also bears clusters of white flowers in the spring.

Pink Breath of Heaven is a fine textured wispy shrub growing 5 ft. high with tiny pink flowers and fragrant leaves. It blooms sporadically throughout the year. It needs good drainage and is drought tolerant. - Cornflower Farms

Sunburst Hypericum

Common name:Sunburst Hypericum
Botanical name:Hypericum frondosum 'Sunburst'

Hypericum frondosum 'Sunburst' is a deciduous shrub or an evergreen in extemely mild climates. Forms a tight mound to 3 ft. tall and wide. Blue-green leaves set off clusters of 1.5 in. bright yellow flowers tha bloom from midsummer o early fall.

Ground cover between stepping stones makes the walkway permeable for rainwater and irrigation.

Sustainable Fertilization

If you mulch heavily as recommended in the compost and mulch fact sheets you should not need traditional fertilization. Sustainable landscapes fertilize themselves as soil organisms break down and recycle the dropped leaves into nutrients.
