Botanical name:Pieris japonica

Pieris japonica is an evergreen shrub with elegant foliage all year. Upright, dense, tiered growth to 9-10 ft. New growth is bronzy pink to red. Mature leaves are glossy green, 3 in. long. Dropping clusters of white, pink, or nearly red flowers.

Kafir Lily, Clivia

Botanical name:Clivia miniata

A clumping evergreen bulb, this Kafir Lily produces luxuriant leaves and stalks of deep orange to red orange flowers in late winter and spring. It tolerates deep shade and, after establishment, drought. The plant requires frost protection. It performs excellent in containers. -Monterey Bay Nursery

Amur Maple

Common name:Amur Maple
Botanical name:Acer ginnala

This plant is a broad crowned tree with attractive foliage. The small medium green, deeply lobed leaves turning brillant orange-red to wine-red in fall. Small, panicles of very fragrant creamy white flowers come in the spring. It can be grown as either a single or multi-stemmed tree. Its irregular growth habit creates an interesting silhouette. It will become chlorotic if planted in alkaline soils. Good in full sun. -Fort Collins Nursery
